FAQs
DOES COLOR ANALYSIS WORK FOR EVERYONE?
One of the many beautiful things about color analysis is that it can work for everyone, regardless of gender, skin tone, ethnicity, or race. However, not all color analysis systems are built that way. During your appointment, we’ll talk about which of the commonly-shared color analysis “rules” and “tips” are unnecessarily limiting and/or flat-out incorrect - including those that are problematically white-centric.
One thing to keep in mind is that color analysis results are consistent over your lifetime (meaning, your season never changes) only after you’ve gone through puberty. As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions.
STUDIO FAQs

I use a unique, combination 27 sub-season color analysis system - feel free to visit the My Approach and My Philosophy pages for more information!
-
Absolutely! All analysis appointments include recommendations on how to consider your color palette when making decisions about hair, make-up, and developing a cohesive wardrobe.
If you are interested in a more in-depth service that includes fully personalized product recommendations, makeup undertone/overtone analysis, auditing your current makeup bag, and testing different makeup colors and products on in the studio, then you can book the "Deluxe Makeup and Hair Consultation", either as an add-on to your original appointment, or as a separate appointment.
As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions!

PDF Guides are included with any main color analysis service (aside from corporate events). The guides are 28+ pages long and are specific to your specific sub-seasonal color palette (nothing generic here!). Each guide includes:
color analysis 101
basics of your sub-season
most and least harmonious colors
closet clean-out guide
styling guide (ie. patterns, prints, outfit contrast)
shopping tips
how to wear your colors during every season
+ many more tips & tricks to kickstart your color journey!

Due to restrictions on my home studio, I can only offer color party appointments (4-6 people) on the weekends.
Feel free to sign up for the Waitlist to receive an email when/if there is a opening for a 1-on-1 on a Saturday due (it’s rare, but it happens!)
-
I only offer in-person color analysis appointments at this time.

I totally understand that you and your friends/family might have different interests with regard to add-on services.
Because of the structure of my appointments, I am unfortunately unable to accomodate different add-ons at the same time. I would recommend booking the small group color analysis appointment together to start, and then each person can schedule their Add-On service of choice for a different day/time. You can visit the “Previous Client Add-On” section of my booking page to do so. Thanks for your understanding!

If your color analysis party/event is in Berkeley, your travel fee is included in the price of the service.
If your color analysis party/event is outside of Berkeley, travel fees are calculated as $2 per minute it takes to travel to you and back + the roundtrip cost of gas and tolls.
Exact fee will be calculated based on the address you provide during booking. However, here are some general ranges to use as a reference:
Oakland/Richmond: $40
Walnut Creek/Hayward/San Leandro: $100
San Francisco: $120
Marin/Concord: $140
Fremont/Pleasanton/Livermore: $200
Peninsula: $240
San Jose: $260
-
Of course! See my travel page for suggestions and details.
Preparing for your appointment
-
I am unfortunately only able to accomodate guests who have a booked appointment at this time. This is because a significant part of your service includes education and application pieces that anyone in the room would receive, regardless if I drape them or not. Thank you for your understanding.
Note: This does not apply to guests who are a previous client of mine who have already received a color analysis from me.

Clothes — Feel free to wear any color top that is not a turtleneck or mockneck, as I will be using a drape to neutralize whatever color you’re wearing while I am analyzing you. If you wear a headscarf, turban, or other head covering, please wear a light neutral color (e.g. beige, white, cream, etc.) if possible.
Hair — Please bring a hair tie or hair clip, so that we can easily keep your hair behind you/off of your face throughout the draping process.
Makeup/Face Products — Please do not wear any tinted face products or makeup (including tinted moisturizers/SPFs, foundation, concealer, BB/CC creams, color correctors, blush, bronzer, contour, or mascara). It can really affect the results!
Fake Tanning Products - Please do not use any fake tanners for at least a week (ideally two weeks) prior to your appointment.
Glasses — If you are person that wears contacts and glasses, wearing contacts to your appointment can help you to more easily see the changes in your face as we test different colors on you. But, if you only wear glasses, we can be flexible and accommodate for them.

How to Get Here
I am located about 14 miles from Oakland International Airport, 23 miles from San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and 45 miles from San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC). All three are accessible by the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) public transportation system.
The closest BART metro stop to my home studio is the North Berkeley BART, a mere 5-block walk away! This stop is on both the Red Line and the Orange Line.
Where to stay
There are countless hotels, Airbnbs, and VRBOs all across Berkeley. Your closest option to the studio would be the Aiden by Best Western Berkeley in Central Berkeley. There are also quite a few restaurants and shops within walking distance. (I am a huge foodie, so ask me for recs when you come!)
Transportation
Whether you’d prefer to rent a car, use a ride share app, or rely on public transportation is completely up to you! All three are easily done across the entire Bay Area, including in Berkeley.
Pro-tip though: while the Bay may not have the most excellent of public transportation systems, basically all of the major attractions in the area are accessible by BART. So if you want to save some money and rely on the train or busses, mother nature would thank you!
