I started Colors With Kate because I discovered for myself how finding your best colors can boost your confidence, simplify your wardrobe, and help you to (finally!) define your personal style.

During COVID, I saw a lot of change in my own body and needed to replace most of my closet. Intimidated and overwhelmed, I began searching for ways to intentionally build a new wardrobe; I didn’t want to buy a bunch of new clothes that didn’t match or that ended up sitting in my closet untouched. When I found Color Analysis, it felt like a godsend. A way to feel more confident when getting dressed, to make shopping easier, and to make my closet entirely cohesive without trying all that hard? Sign me up!

But, no matter how hard I tried or how many articles I read, I found it impossible to analyze my own face and features in an unbiased way. My best colors remained a frustrating mystery.

Nevertheless, my love for Color Analysis grew. I studied for months and months. I started analyzing my friends and family - and their friends and family - and saw the way that certain color palettes lit up each of their faces and their confidence. After years behind a makeup counter, I had already spent countless hours analyzing my client’s faces using trial-and-error (just like draping in color analysis!) to find which colors made them shine. Color Analysis was just a different way to apply that skillset in an even more inclusive and generalizable way, and I loved every second of it.

So, when I finally took the leap and got a color analysis myself, I experienced the same thing that everyone who I’d already analyzed experienced - that ah-hah, deep exhale moment where your intuition matches your season and it feels like finally everything is falling into place. That is the feeling I’ve now helped hundreds of clients find as a certified master color analyst, and now it’s your turn.
